January #dlivrddifferencemaker Profile: Sarah R.

We’re continuing our monthly series on our #dlivrddifferencemakers, featuring Sarah Ridgway!

Position: Logistics Coordinator.

Hometown: Hesperia, California about halfway between Los Angeles and Las Vegas!

How long have you been with dlivrd? A year and a half!

Expand upon your professional background: My experience prior to dlivrd was with a major global supply chain company. I worked with a franchise location for about two years. COVID hit, and I moved to their corporate operations. I started doing deliveries out of my personal vehicle. I would drive no more than a half hour to a neighborhood and deliver packages and return to the main hub. This was during the height of COVID when there was a lot of online shopping done. Eventually, the demand was just too much for them to handle and I was moved to a seasonal position.

Though it wasn’t full-time anymore, I ended up training my coworkers and tracking through the logistics software we used to ensure packages were delivered within a certain time and make sure deliveries were tracked and completed. This background I developed in both logistics and operations helped me greatly in my current position with dlivrd! I had the opportunity to be one of the first people in our initial San Diego office location! Since then, we’ve grown into a new office space with a whole team of #dlivrddifferencemakers onboarded in 2022!

What is the most rewarding part of your role? Connecting Earning Partners with high-quality earning opportunities, knowing that the orders I’m assigning are helping them provide for their families. I also get to know people on the platform and their schedules and ensure that orders are always fairly distributed. It’s amazing to see them rewarded for the catering deliveries they complete and watching the process unfold from start to finish.

What is your superpower? Staying calm in stressful and busy situations. It’s especially important to take a step back and tackle the tasks you have to deal with. You’ll have much better results in the end! Because of this, I’ve also been able to strengthen my multitasking abilities! I can probably do about seven things at once and still remain on top of everything!

What does the #dlivrddifference mean to you? The #dlivrddifference is the larger, positive impact we’re able to make in the gig work community. There can be a considerable lack of transparency and support in gig work platforms. We want to be able to have an open line of communication through our humanized processes and building those relationships! We’re also able to offer Earning Partner prizes and promotions to add to the already high-quality earning opportunities here at dlivrd.

What is your favorite quote? “Sharks don’t swim backwards.” (Author’s note: Sharks are Sarah’s favorite animal, and essentially the quote translates into moving ahead to the future and not looking back!)

What is your favorite food? Sushi or tacos! The ingredients are super fresh along the coast and everything is authentic.
